PROFILE

President Masanari Nomura
Our company celebrated the 60th anniversary of its establishment in April 2003. I am deeply grateful for your support and patronage. Taking advantage of this opportunity, our company is in the process of transforming itself and emerging as a new, value-creation company. We have been known in the past as "Hokuriku: Maker of Resistors"; in the future we will be known as "Hokuriku: Maker of Sensors and Modules."

Technology is often advanced by fusing different technologies together. We have made advances in materials technology used our discrete components and process technology, which have been the core of HOKURIKU. Then, we are achieving and continuously improving the mass production of micro SMD parts, such as 0603 and 0402 sizes.
We are also making a full-committed start to the mass production in fiscal year 2003 of force sensors and 3-axis acceleration sensor modules for man-machine interface for mobile apparatus. These products have been developed by wedding MEMS technology developed for our pressure sensors and our advanced circuit technologies.

The product and technology needs of the electronics marketplace evolve and become more diverse day by day. As a result, product life becomes significantly shorter and the development period is also likely to be shorter. To serve these needs, our company provides quick and flexible service. And we are concentrating on developing flexible solutions at the concept stage that can be adapted quickly to various applications. Another top priority established by our management is the offering of products which can be manufactured and used in an environmentally sound way.

While the technological world continues to advance in innovative directions, we provide products which are used in myriad applications and make full use of our company's circuit and mounting technologies. Furthermore, as our modern technological societies ages and the number of children falls, we foresee a growing need for products which employ sensors to the fields such as home security or caring. We provide you with our various sensors as satisfying products. In response to your expectations, we will endeavor to earn your trust as "HOKURIKU, Maker of Sensors and Modules."

We ask for your continued and increased support and patronage in the future.
